Drainfield and Leach Field Installation
Drainfield and Leach Field Installation in Spartanburg
The drainfield is where the real treatment happens, and it is also the part that fails first when a system is neglected. Ifallsdailyjournal builds and repairs soil absorption fields across Spartanburg County, using gravel trenches or plastic leaching chambers sized to the percolation rate. When an older field starts to surface, smell, or back up into the house, we diagnose whether it needs a distribution box reset, a partial rebuild, or a full replacement field on a fresh part of the lot.
Why Drainfields Fail
- Overloading. Too much water or a skipped pump out lets sludge reach the outlet and blind the soil.
- A settled D-box. When the distribution box tips, one lateral drowns while the rest sit dry, and the wet run gives out early.
- Compaction and roots. Driving over the field or letting trees grow into it crushes the trenches and clogs the pipe.
Our Process
We locate the existing field, check the D-box and effluent filter, and read whether the soil can still accept flow. For a new field we size the trench length or chamber count from the perc test, set everything on washed gravel under non woven filter fabric, and grade the finished area to shed surface water. Where soil is tight, a pressure dosed layout spreads the effluent more evenly than gravity.
