Created 07/21/2008 - 12:52pm

Andrew “Andy” Krzoska Jr., 76, was sent to us by God on Sept. 7, 1931, born at home in Pencer, Minn. to Josephine (Virkus) and Andrew Krzoska Sr. He was at home surrounded by his family when he was called back to Heaven by God on Saturday, July 19, 2008.
He attended the County School in Pencer, Minn. After losing his mother to cancer, he was blessed with a wonderful woman, Esther Skime, to call his new mom.
As a young adult he was called to defend our freedom in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant. He returned home to Roseau and married Joan Mortenson on Nov. 12, 1955, at the English Lutheran Church in Roseau, Minn.
He was employed by Boise Cascade from 1956 until he retired in 1993. He worked in the yard crew as a truck driver. He was a supervisor and had the only red truck in the entire fleet.
He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
He looked forward to spending time with his family and friends, especially when they could go hunting, fishing or camping. He loved joking around and you could always count on him for a few good laughs. When he said he would do something, he did it; his word was better than a piece of paper.
He will always be known as a loving man, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Andy will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, of 53 years; three sons, Wesley (Rose Marie) and children Andrew, Jason, Brigette, Ashley and Angie; Warren and daughter Mariah of International Falls; and Wendell (Joslyn) and their children Jennifer, Melissa, Jeremiah and Derek of Roosevelt, Minn.; a daughter, Gwen (Doug) Hasson and their children Nicole, Paul and Jacob of Roseau, Minn; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leland (Genevieva), Kenny (Caroline) and Eddie (Joyce), all of International Falls, and Ralph (Dorothy) of Albany, Ore.; sisters, Adeline Bragg, Jenny (Roy) Puttbrese and Alma Geroy, all of Albany, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Sr., Esther and Josephine; a brother, Casper; sister, Florence and her husband Dale Amundson; and brother-in-law, Laverne “Bim” Geroy.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at Zion Lutheran Church with full military rites.
Interment will be in the VFW section of Forest Hill Cemetery.
Condolences may be left at www.greenlarsen.com [1].
Arrangements are with Green-Larsen Mortuary Inc., International Falls.
