Voyageurs split with Pioneers

The Rainy River Community College Voyageurs softball team split a pair of one-run games with the Northland Community College Pioneers Monday afternoon in Thief River Falls.
Megan Pinette led the Voyageurs at the plate going 2-for-4 with 2 RBI as the Voyageurs defeated the Pioneers 7-6.
Jenn Falk picked the win on the mound striking out 15 batters, giving up eight hits and walking one. Other offensive contributors included Tasha Johnson who went 2-for-2 with one RBI while Jamie Janshen added an RBI.
The Pioneers picked up the win in game two downing RRCC 6-5.
Falk picked up the loss giving up 12 hits and striking out seven while going 2-for-3 from the plate with three RBI. Pinette continued to be solid at the plate going 1-for-2 with two walks.
The Voyageurs are scheduled to be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Ely for a pair of games with the Vermillion Iron Women starting at 3 p.m.
