Casareto, Eldien top list of Bronco baseball awards
The Falls Broncos baseball team awards were recently announced, and seniors Jacob Casareto and Daniel Eldien shared Most Valuable Player honors.
Senior Mike Menard was named the Most Improved Player and was also selected by his teammates for the Player’s Choice Award, given to the player who exemplifies Bronco baseball.
The 2009 Mr. Bronco Baseball award, selected by the coaches as the player who exemplifies Bronco baseball on and off the field, were Casareto and Menard.
The 2010 captains were also announced as incoming seniors Chris Little and Willie Corrin.
Menard, Eldien, Casareto and Little earned a spot on the 2009 Section 7AA Team, while Eldien, Menard and Casareto played in the Arrowhead Conference All-Star contest.
Alaska’s Moore signs with RRCC
Nicole Moore, who hails from Eagle River, Alaska, recently signed a letter of intent to play club hockey at Rainy River Community College.
Moore was an assistant captain this past season at Chugiak High School, and the captain of her club team, the Alaska Firebirds. Moore is also not the first athlete from Eagle River to participate in RRCC athletics. Bill Adams played men’s hockey from 1979-80.
“Nicole brings with her a love and passion for the game,” RRCC head coach Evan Amdahl said in a statement. “Her desire to play at the next level is what brings her 3,000 miles from home to play for us next year.”
