International Falls Police Department
Assault: William B. Ehlert, 311 Sixth St., was transported to Falls Memorial Hospital Thursday after being struck by a baseball bat.
Collision: A vehicle driven by Robert D. Claude, 66, Leroy, Mich., backed into a vehicle driven by Michael S. Brennard, 48, 1112 Eighth Ave., Saturday in the parking lot of Super One, 1313 Third St., causing more than $1,000 in damages.
Chiefs report, July 21-Aug. 3: 311 calls for service; 31 recorded traffic stops; 14 arrests; 22 citations issued; two medical/detox/child welfare holds signed; 17 medical responses; one escort; 10 other agency assists.
Chiefs report, Aug. 4-17: 308 calls for service; 34 recorded traffic stops; 11 arrests; 16 citations issued; 11 medical responses; one escort; eight other agency assists.

Chiefs report, Jan. 1-Aug. 18: Ambulance calls — 468; Fire calls, International Falls — 23, Ranier — one, rural area — eight, mutual aid events — four.

Koochiching County Sheriff’s Office
Burglary: Arthur B. Giles, 9158 Deer Ave., Margie, reported Saturday that the residence had been broken into and household items totaling $5,000 were taken.
Collision: A vehicle driven by Joseph B. LaPointe, 21, 1604 10th Ave., struck a vehicle driven by Matthew R. Covel, 23, 1604 First Ave., as Covel was pulling out of Bowman Landing, causing more than $1,000 in damages.
