25 YEARS AGO
There will be an open house tomorrow in honor of the 25th wedding anniversary of Shirley and Phil Arnold, 2 to 6 p.m., dance at 8 p.m., at the Elks Hall.
Ray Maki, 62, missed less than a week of work during his 35-year career with Boise Cascade. The millwright recently retired from his leadman position at the Sidings Plant.

40 YEARS AGO
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Schumacher and son, Steve, 14, and daughter, Christine, 12, moved into the house at 803 Second St. on Friday. Mr. Schumacher is the Boise Cascade Paper Division safety director, succeeding Verner Reuter, who resigned.
Mrs. Lloyd (Esther) Johnson, 68, leaves here Friday and will fly to Gemena, Democratic Republic of the Congo, as a short-term missionary for the Evangelical Covenant Church. She and her late husband served in The Congo from 1925 to 1932.
Homecoming queen and king candidates from the senior class are Patti Ballan, Linda Carlson, Wendy Gerlach, Linda Chovan, Shirley Sampson, Debbie Edberg, Dean Blais, Rick LaVigne, Tim Blais, Bob Murray, Burton Helleloid and Duane Foss.
Mrs. Theodore Wallen and her daughter, Miss Phyllis Wallen, returned Sunday from a month’s visit to Eugene, Ore. There they were guests of Mrs. Wallen’s son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip (Moneen) Narveson, Margo, 4, and Heidi, 1.

A pink and blue shower complimented Mrs. Paul Constantine recently at the Emil Brown home, City Beach.
The marriage of Miss Christine Brown and Leonard Paulson will be an event of 3 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Charles Bertram, Rainy Lake, was guest of honor at a pink and blue shower last evening at the home of Mrs. Jay Nims, Rainy Lake.

60 YEARS AGO
Rudy Curley, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Curley, City Beach, left for Minneapolis to study railroad telegraphy at Gale Institute. Rudy graduated from Falls High School last spring.
Billy Koskie, third grade student at Alexander Baker School, received a double fracture of his right arm when he fell while at play during the recess period.
The Sew and Sew Club entertained at the home of Mrs. Peter Glennie, 1127 Seventh Ave. The event marked the 10th year the club has been active.
A stork shower for Mrs. Clarence Moone of French Addition was conducted at the home of Mrs. Jack Sutliffe, Carson-Lupie.
