Football returned to the local scene this morning at 9:30 when 62 hopeful prospects turned out at Sports Stadium in response to the call for practice by Coach Frank “Butch” Larson.
A stork shower was given in honor of Mrs. Fred B. Day at the home of Mrs. Claude Hemsworth, Highway Lane, with Mrs. Thomas Hellings, co-hostess.
Mrs. Angus Lindquist, Riverside Trailer and Cabin Court, left for Elkhart, Ind., by plane to attend a multi-million dollar trailer show.
Richard Allen, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Allen, Island View Route, left for Newport, R.I., where he will enter the U.S. Navy’s officers’ candidate school.

Miss Mary Elinor Rydberg, 22, of International Falls, this week was appointed a chemical engineer in the regular corps of the U.S. Public Health Service.
Miss Frances Rassier has accepted a position at the First State Bank and began her duties on Monday.
A daughter weighing 6 pounds, 1 1/2 ounces, was born today to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Walker, South International Falls.
A 9-pound, 1-1/2-ounce girl also arrived today. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. William Ruport of this city.
