Mrs. Lillian Johnson celebrated her 96th birthday Monday at the Falls Nursing Home. Mrs. Johnson’s ambition is to live to be a hundred.

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Stavseth, 8 pounds, 10 3/4 ounces.
Members of the Sutherland family and their families gathered Sunday at the Wayne Jespersen residence, Island View Route.
Mrs. William Ruport entertained at a birthday party yesterday afternoon in honor of her daughter Barbara’s 10th birthday. About 12 girls attended and they played bingo.
Mrs. Lillian Munroe is confined to the Littlefork Municipal Hospital this week receiving treatment for her right hand which got caught in a wringer while she was washing clothes. There are no broken bones but her hand is quite badly bruised.

The new Forestland grade school will be dedicated at public ceremonies next month.
Miss Jean Earley who will be a bride of early September, was complimented at a shower in Ukrainian Hall. Hostesses were Mmes. James Ewald, Romeo Karsnia, George Bruggeman, John Cullen and Bernard Earley.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hilke will be hosts to members of the Couples Club of Bethlehem Congregational Church at an old fashioned corn roast this evening at their summer home on Rainy Lake.
Independent league keglers, meeting at the Bowling Center, named Roland Decker to head their circuit for the 1948-49 season.
