Free health insurance counseling

The Arrowhead Regional Development Commission’s Area Agency on Aging is offering free on-site health insurance counseling at the Northome VFW Building/Temporary Library Location, Northome on first Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. Assistance regarding benefits, appeals, forms, Medicare Savings Programs and the Prescription Drug Program applications, sorting and organizing of Medicare statements and supplemental statements is provided.
Assistance with searching for Medicare supplements or other insurance policies is also provided. To schedule an appointment, call Kathy Elhard, Northome Resource Coordinator at 218-897-5565 or by calling the Senior LinkAge Line® at 1-800-333-2433.
Health Insurance Counseling is presented by the Senior LinkAge Line®, a program of the ARDC’s Area Agency on Aging.
The Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC) serves the people of the Arrowhead Region by providing local units of government and citizens groups a means to work cooperatively in identifying needs, solving problems, and fostering local leadership.

There is one question that has never been answered by me and I'm curious if the online counselors will be able to answer it for me. I want to know if there is a health insurance plan that covers the expenses of a couple seeking marriage help. Considering that marriages usually end because of too much stress and work, we can classify the counseling as medical assistance. If any other ifallsdailyjournal readers are curious about the answer, I'll be back to post it here once I get the response from The Arrowhead Regional Development Commission’s Area Agency on Aging.

Johanna, Most pastors in town can provide counseling help for those experiencing marital problems, some will offer such help for free. I'm not sure if Minnesota Care has such a provision but if you are without insurance and can't afford the counseling cost that might be asked of you, then perhaps check with The Salvation Army and see what they can do.
