Student to attend seminar at RNC
Alison Garbe, a student at the University of St. Thomas, is one of about 150 students attending the Republican National Convention in St. Paul as part of the Washington Center’s Campaign 2008 National Republic Convention seminar.
Participants in the seminar arrive for a week of academic seminars and lectures in advance of the convention to learn about the political process and the role the event plays in the selection of a party’s presidential and vice presidential nominees. Students are also planning to meet with their local delegation and participate in at least six hours of volunteer field work with an organization that has a vested interest in the convention and its outcomes.
“Not only am I looking forward to having the chance to participate in such an excellent educational opportunity, but I am also thrilled to be working with the foreign press for my fieldwork,” Garbe said.
