Melody Anne Sandstrom, 47

Melody Anne Sandstrom, International Falls, Minn., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at her sister’s home in the Falls following her long and courageous battle with cancer. Melody was 47 years of age.
She was born April 24, 1961, in International Falls to Shirley Wagner and Thomas Sandstrom.
In 1972 she moved to Grand Rapids then in 1977 to Hibbing where she graduated from Hibbing High School in 1979. Following her high school graduation she moved back to International Falls and attended Rainy River Community College.
In 1997 Melody moved to Faribault, Minn., where she worked for Viratec as a glass inspector until recently returning to the Falls to live with her sister, Wendy.
Melody enjoyed crafts and gardening, but most of all she loved to spend time with her son and grandson.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Lyle Sandstrom; her brother, Ralph Sandstrom; grandparents, Earl and Ethel Clauson, Mary Sandstrom and George “Dutch” Hunter; her aunt, Victoria Johnson; and step brother, Ivan Wagner.
Melody is survived by her mother, Shirley and step-father, Thomas Wagner; her son, Clinton (Sara) Sandstrom of Kenyon, Minn.; grandson, Joseph Sandstrom; sisters, Kathleen Sandstrom and Wendy (Jerry) Ness of International Falls, Minn.; brother, Thomas (Donelle) Sandstrom of Little Canada, Minn.; nephews, Ralph, Joshua, Nathaniel and Andrew Sobkowicz, all of the Falls, and Thomas John Sandstrom of Florida; step-brothers, Larry (Jan) Wagner, Richard (Jodie) Wagner and Thomas (Bert) Wagner; step-sisters, Peggy Wagner and Patty (Arnie) Schmidt; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at First Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, International Falls.
