Evelyn A. Trompeter

Evelyn A. Trompeter, of Ranier, Minn., died at her home Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. She courageously fought a battle with cancer for the past four years.
She was born June 26, 1929, at International Falls.
Evelyn was a member of many clubs and organizations, including Falls Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, NARFE, Zion Sunday School, Kiwanis Golden K’s, Ranier Girls Club, X-Ray Club, Whist Club, an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sarah Circle and spent 19 winters in Arizona.
She was employed as the postmaster of Ranier.
She enjoyed baking, fishing, knitting, shopping, traveling, staying at the cabin in Rice Bay, spending time with family and friends, playing Bridge, and entertaining.
She loved her family above all else and openly showered love on her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Mildred (Millie) Otness.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Trompeter, son, Robert L. (Kathleen) Trompeter, and daughter, Susan I. (Rick) Olson, all of International Falls; grandchildren, Beth (Jerrod) Shermoen, Wendy (Brian) Blackman, Sara Beth Olson, and Rachel Olson; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Maria Shermoen, Jonah Blackman and an arrival of the fourth great-grandchild in December. She is also survived by her sister, Irene (Ernie) Bergstrom of Seattle, Wash.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Zion Lutheran Church.
Interment will be in the Veterans of Foreign Wars section of Forest Hill Cemetery.
Memorials would be preferred to Zion Lutheran Church, North Star Hospice, or the donor’s choice.
