Damien Jon Horton, of International Falls, Minn., died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, in Littlefork, Minn. He was 26 years of age.
He was born April 13, 1982, in International Falls, to Geraldine and Vernon Horton.
Damien worked as a mechanic for Northern Timberline Equipment Company. He was also a student at the Rainy River Community College and was additionally enrolled at Bemidji Northwest Technical College.
In his spare time he enjoyed working on trucks and cars, playing guitar, singing and listening to music, camping, art, spending time with family and friends, cooking, four-wheeling and painting.
He loved hanging out on the Linford Road with Ralph Olson and Brad Hazelton.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jerry Pullar Sr.; great-grandparents, Dorothy and Ervin Pullar and Robert and Clarice MaClanathan; and his aunt, Sally Kerry.
Damien is survived and will be missed by his parents, Geraldine and Vernon Horton; grandmother, Betty Pullar; beloved significant other and future wife, Breezy Johnson; brothers, Christopher Horton, Dustin Horton, Vernon Horton Jr. and Anthony Morriseau; numerous step-brothers, sisters, Dana Horton and Daphne Horton; Lanny and Shelley Johnson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A visitation with family and friends is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Green-Larsen Mortuary.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at the Full Gospel Fellowship Church, International Falls, 1530 Sixth Ave. W., with visitation one hour prior to the church service.
Interment is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 30, at Ericsburg Cemetery.
To honor Damien, the Manitou Rapids Native American Band will be offering an educational bursary grant in his memory.
