Candidates who wish to run for positions on the International Falls City Council, Littlefork City Council, Ranier City Council and Falls School Board can begin filing Tuesday.
An International Falls City Council position and the International Falls mayoral seat are up for election in the November general election. The councilor at large position is a 4-year term and is currently held by Tim “Chopper” McBride. The mayoral seat is a 4-year term and is currently held by Shawn Mason. Candidates who wish to file can do so beginning Tuesday in the Municipal Building. Filings close at 5 p.m. Sept. 9.
Three Littlefork City Council positions and the Littlefork mayoral seat are up for election in the November election. Two 4-year councilor positions are up for election. The positions are currently held by Loren Lehman and Glenn Weigold. A 2-year councilor position is also for election. The position is currently held by Rob Polkinghorne. A 2-year mayoral seat is up for election and is currently held by Shane Williams. Candidates who wish to file for the positions can do so in the Littlefork City Hall beginning Tuesday. Filings close Sept. 9.
Two Ranier City Council positions and the Ranier mayoral seat are up for election in the November general election. The 4-year councilor positions up for election are currently held by Dan Klocek and John Walls and the 2-year mayor position is currently held by Ed Oerichbauer. Candidates who wish to file for the positions can do so in the Ranier Community Building beginning Tuesday. Filings close at 4 p.m. Sept. 9.
Four positions on the Falls School Board are up for election in November. Four-year terms up for election are positions now held by Robin Baumchen, Gerald Bolstad and Mark Lassila. A 2-year position now held by Michelle Hebner is also up for election. Candidates who wish to file for the positions can do so in the office at Falls High School beginning Tuesday. Filings close Sept. 9.
