The council is scheduled to hear a recommendation from its Economic Development Committee to use money dedicated by the city for the Koochiching Economic Development Authority to pay for the service.
In addition, the council is expected to hear a recommendation from its Human Resources Committee to recommend a 2-percent salary increase for non-contract employees for 2008. Non-contract employees represent department heads and supervisors.
The council is also scheduled to take action on an agreement with the Board of Water and Soil Resources on a $30,000 grant it will provide to the city for development of a comprehensive wetland protection and management plan.
In other business, the council is scheduled to appoint election judges, endorse appointing Steve Lindberg to the area’s Convention and Visitor Bureau Board, approve two exempt gambling permits and a peddler/transient merchant application for Filco Inc., doing business as Sun Pools n’ Spas.
