Tuesday Musicale
The September potluck meeting for Tuesday Musicale is set for 6 p.m. Monday at the home of Jeannine Nelson, Fire No. 509, Point of Pines. Members will discuss the program schedule for the coming year. Plans will be made for the 75th Anniversary of Tuesday Musicale and special fundraising plans for the 45th year of awarding summer music camp scholarships to area students. Guests are welcome. AARP chapter
AARP, “Ice Box of the North Chapter,” will gather for the annual potluck picnic at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Smokey Bear Park. (Note time change). In case of rain, the potluck will be at Koochiching County Senior Center. All interested persons are welcome to attend.
Horseshoe
tournament
Miller & Domino's Fall Fling Horseshoe Tournament is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Kerry Park. Registration begins at noon. Entry fee is $5. Teams will be determined by blind draw. Must be 18 or older to enter. For more information, call Tim at 283-4940.
Phone recycling
Borderland Humane Society is currently participating in a cell phone recycling program. By recycling old cell phones, the humane society can receive money for the old phones, with all proceeds going to BHS. The community is urged to help by donating phones to help animals in need. Phones may be dropped off at The Daily Journal, Radio Shack or K-104/KGHS Radio Station. Anyone with questions may call 218-324-2313.
Elks meal
The Elks Lodge Wednesday Meal will be Chicken Cordon Bleu served at 6:30 p.m. Call early for reservations at 283-3440.
Open horse show
Littlefork Saddle Club will host their final show of 2008 Sunday. The show will begin at 10 a.m. at the Littlefork Fairgrounds Arena. Everyone is welcome to participate and spectators are welcome. Concessions available on grounds.

Moose events
The Moose Lodge will feature Texas Hold ‘Em at 6:30 p.m. Monday. A meatloaf supper will be served at 6 p.m. Tuesday, with Texas Hold ‘Em following at 7.
Pain management group
The Chronic Pain Management Support Group will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Room of the Duluth Clinic-International Falls.First Aid course

Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do classes for ages 10 and up, Beginner’s Session, will begin Tuesday and run from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. at Falls Elementary School gymnasium. The Advanced Session began Sept. 2 and runs from 6:45 to 7:45 Tuesdays and Thursdays. The $25 tickets, which are good for eight classes and may be used by the entire family, may be purchased at Community Education. Instructor is Ken Krueger. Water aerobics

Infant-child CPR
Red Cross Infant-Child Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification classes are set for Wednesday and again Oct. 8 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Falls Elementary School Library. Girl Scout
registration
All girls ages 5-17, along with a parent/guardian, are welcome to learn more about the new Girl Scout Leadership Experience at the Registration Night set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Littlefork Lutheran Church. Cost to join is $10. Scholarships are available. Adult volunteers are needed to guide girls and assist with local events.Training is provided.
