This blog article is irrelevant. Humans exist alone in the universe they know. They live on the earth at far-flung distances, detached from the knowledge of one another. This planet drifts at great distances from the other planets in the solar system. This solar system spins even farther from other solar systems inside the Milky Way. The galaxy is even farther away from other galaxies in the universe. An dark, airless vacuum permeates the distance between everything in the universe. And in that emptiness known clearly on nights spent alone, silently staring at the dark for a reason to sleep, and then, even to wake, wouldn't it have been love that filled the emptiness with something of value? The love of family, the love of God, and the love of country? Isn't having faith in those people, your God and your country really what it all comes down to in the insignificant moments we spend trying to fill the void with a sense that we exist?

Better to light a candle than curse the darkness.
