Erickson, the son of Bertha (Leden) and Carl Erickson, was born July 26, 1916, in Birchdale, Minn. He was raised in Birchdale and graduated from Indus High School in 1933.<br /> On Aug. 22, 1942, he and Isabel Robertson were united in marriage in International Falls. They lived in Birchdale until 1980 when they moved into Baudette.<br /> Gerald farmed for many years and worked in the woods logging. He started his own sawmill in 1975.
