Correction

A story published in Thursday’s edition about a NEXUS Center should have said the program is being handled on the U.S. side of the border by Customs and Border Protection. In addition, the NEXUS program will not replace the I-68 boater program. Instead, a NEXUS card can be used in place of the I-68 which will continue to be offered. Also, a NEXUS lane will be designed at the border crossing.


CLARIFICATION 08/20/08

A story about the Ranier budget published in Tuesday’s edition may have confused some of the city’s water customers. The 2-percent levy increase proposed and adopted by the council Monday has nothing to do about the waterlines and will not impact residents outside the city limits.


Sports Correction 08/18/08

A story in Friday’s paper incorrectly identified the Broncos football practice with pads as being held on Wednesday.


CORRECTION 08/18/08

The Pat Porter story published Aug. 14 should have listed Jesse and Michelle Porter as his son and daughter-in-law. Barb and Pat Porter share seven children.


CORRECTION 08/11/08

An obituary for Falls High School Class of 1956 graduate Charles H. Olson that appeared on Page 7 of the Alumni News Issue 51 published July 29-31 should have listed his first wife as Shirley (Larson) Olson, Class of ‘55, of Coon Rapids and Harlingen, Texas.


CORRECTION 08/06/08

The Ranier Centennial list of WWII veterans should have included Clarence “Spike” Polus, who served in the U.S. Army, and Leo Polus, who served in the U.S. Navy.
In the Vic Davis story the wife’s name should have read Harriett and the mother’s name as Bessie.


Correction 07/10/08

The article in Tuesday’s edition, “Daughter learns art of chainsaw carving,” should have stated Amanda Campbell’s stepfather as Scott Servis.


Addition 07/02/08

A story on Page 5 of Monday’s edition about Katie Ray should have included that she is the granddaughter of Falls resident and former mayor Jack Murray.


CORRECTION 06/27/08

A story in Friday’s Daily Journal on the Falls School Board’s decision should have stated that one of the external superintendent candidates had experience as a superintendent intern.


Correction

The Ranier City Council meeting story should have stated that Arden Barnes recalled that a village hand pump may have existed near the railway and the current site of a sink hole on Duluth Street.
