When Blue Eyes and Blue Skys Bring the Blues

What then this emptiness? This incomplete dream? A certain something, dismissed before coffee meets cream? River Sadness swirls murky between ocean and stream?

Where’s the void, Paul Newman once handsomely . . . filled? In a world more ugly, diminished, and chilled?

I tell you my friend, it’s this HUGE hole in my heart. My cup of grief's full, and . . . too heavy . . . to cart.

Very nice Mongo, a great man and as you say, a void that will be difficult to fill. He was a star among stars. What is great about him is he was faithful, true and cool, something Hollywood usually does not exhibit.

Must admit he was one hell of a movie star, and a great philanthropist who created a company that made outstanding foods, and also allowed him to contribute one quarter of a Billion dollars to help others. But, I disliked him from the standpoint that he was one of the original "Hollywood" GOP bashers/anti-war bashers. I think he helped start the current breed of losers, such as Leo De-crap-rio, George C-looney, and the other "vile spewers" that emanate from Hollyweird!! So, because of this, I have had to try very hard to "compartmentalize" my thoughts about this very great and talented man. He said he shunned the Hollywood scene, but, deep down inside, he was a "ground roots" organizer of the current lot of Hollyweird "wanna-be" Actors/activists. So sad for his loss, but also too bad he had that stigma attached to him!!

Lesleyk, Saw Oceans Eleven,...

Back to page top

Lesleyk,

Saw Oceans Eleven, and it was pretty good. Oceans #12 was terrible (I think I spent more on the Coke and popcorn, than they did making that movie). But, then the rumors of him being gay, started flying, and to get that off his back, he started the Bush bashing, etc., and I stopped watching his movies. I WILL NOT go see ANY movie by ANY of the Hollyweird Actors, who insist in their phony Bush/GOP bashing, and anti-war BS, just to further their loser careers!!Some of their recent movies actually look pretty good, but I will save my money and will (and have) send it to the McCain/Palin election fund. Much better use of my money! By the way, I think your husband looks like Neil Cavuto, on Fox News. Check it out! Quite a resemblance I would say. I don't know if that is good or bad. LOL

You have to see Ocean's Thirteen! (Twelve is my least favorite of the three.)

So then, what were your thoughts on Matt Damon's interview about Sarah Palin? I kinda liked the "bad disney movie" comparison. If there had been a McCain/Romney ticket, I would have had a harder decision. Once he picked Palin, well, that pushed me to the dem side. But then, I'm not of the hard-core right persuasion.
